Avaya and AT&T joined together to launch a mobile convergence package for business users providing greater mobility, flexibility and cost control.
The latest enhancement of AT&T Mobile Extension is designed only for companies using Avaya Communication Manager IP Telephony. Businesses and organizations can now gain more control over mobile communication costs while providing workers with greater flexibility.
"AT&T Mobile Extension includes elements of both fixed and wireless communications, which offers corporate end-users a consistent set of features and a seamless communications experience," said Chris Hill, vice-president mobility product management, AT&T Business Solutions.
"We are taking the next step with fixed mobile convergence by offering virtually anywhere, anytime access to enterprise solutions and applications, and are pleased to now offer this solution to Avaya customers."
According to Avaya, the key features of the joint project solution include common set of features for users while in the office or on the road including: a single number to contact, single voice mail covering both wireless and desk phones, designated minutes for AT&T Mobile Extension calls and international calls.
AT&T Mobile Extension supports the industry's leading mobile device platforms such as iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile.
