Expedia Tops Estimates

Expedia Inc. (Nasdaq: EXPE) reported lower second quarter earnings of 76 cents per share compared with $1.01 per share in the year ago period but the results surpassed analyst expectations. Shares of the online travel company leaped $9.19 to close at $54.90.
