VMW Drops 4%: Maritz Move Would be a Loss, Says Nomura

Shares of VMWare (VMW) are down $3.72, or 4.4%, at $80.69 this morning following speculation of management change and a possible asset sale. This morning, Kevin McLaughlin of CRN writes that CEO Paul Maritz is being replaced by EMC (EMC) chief operating officer Pat Gelsinger, citing multiple unnamed sources. EMC owns 80% of VMWare shares.
