PR Log - May 29, 2012 - SEATTLE, WA. – OTTER, LLC today announced a strategic relationship with Eagle Harbor Holdings, LLC (EHH) that will solidify OTTER’s innovative technology at the front of the text-and-drive and social texting management market. The two companies have signed an exclusive patent license agreement which gives OTTER, LLC rights to certain aspects of the EHH patent portfolio. “Eagle Harbor Holdings has the intellectual property and technical expertise to bring our product into any discussion that involves texting management, including social and GPS based products used when driving,” explains Erik Wood, Founder and CEO of OTTER, LLC.  “Adding this intellectual property component will usher in the most exciting chapter for us since our 2009 launch”, says Erik Wood.

As background, Eagle Harbor Holdings CEO Dan Preston was the mind behind the now ubiquitous vehicle communication and navigation system called OnStar. David Marsing, EHH Chief Strategy Officer, stated: “This agreement further enhances the EHH innovation pipeline for the commercialization of exciting new technologies.  OTTER represents new ideas in social messaging while providing a solution to the lethal issue of text-and-drive.”

OTTER Co-Founder, Jon Lam, stated: “We were the first product in the text-and-drive market that recognized the potential of offering the end user a social tool that also allowed them to willingly make the right choices on the road.” Lam adds:  “Having the resources, contacts and the patent protection of EHH allows us to continue to bring a host of new products to market in the coming months that will change how we interact with texting in any situation.”

HOW OTTER WORKS:

The OTTER software, first developed in late 2009, was the first app of its kind that integrated a texting auto reply and GPS functionality to produce a tool that allows users to manage their texts while they are at home, in the office or, most importantly, on the highway.
