Demand for graphite, especially flake graphite, is expected to surge in coming years as the mineral, once seen as the stuff pencils and golf balls are made of, finds new applications. From lithium-ion batteries to pebble-bed nuclear reactors to graphene, this "critical" mineral's demand is burgeoning.
