CreateSpace, an Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) company, and ABC Family today announced a deal to bring popular TV series The Secret Life of the American Teenager to DVD via Amazon’s CreateSpace on Demand service. The Secret Life of the American Teenager: Volume Seven, the award-winning original drama starring Independent Spirit Award winner Shailene Woodley (“The Descendants”), Molly Ringwald and Daren Kagasoff, launches on DVD exclusively on Amazon.com today. The three-disc set features all 13 episodes from the first half of the series’ fourth season – just in time for fans to catch up before the March 26 premiere of all-new episodes on ABC Family. The Secret Life of the American Teenager: Volume Seven, as well as prior seasons of the show, are also available on Prime Instant Video.
“We‘re excited to be working with ABC Family to bring some of their most popular series to DVD for the first time,” said Brad Beale, director of digital video content acquisition for Amazon. “We’re always working to offer our customers more great content, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager is another example of that.”
The Secret Life of the American Teenager centers on the daily life of high school student Amy Juergens (Shailene Woodley). Molly Ringwald stars as Anne Juergens, Amy’s mom, while Daren Kagasoff plays Ricky Underwood, Amy’s troubled on-again-off-again boyfriend. Between their love triangles, secrets, drama, accusations, gossip, confusion and scandalous rumors, the teens at Grant High live life in the fast lane and there’s never a dull moment. In The Secret Life of the American Teenager: Volume Seven, relationships continue to shift and change as each character struggles with questions about loss, loyalty and love. New beginnings, and ultimately new challenges, come in the wake of tragedy, as everyone must come to terms with what kind of future they want for themselves and those they care about.
