CreateSpace, an Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) company, and Nickelodeon today announced that the first two seasons of The Fresh Beat Band, the hit live-action preschool music series, are available on DVD for the first time exclusively on Amazon.com. The Fresh Beat Band new releases will be available to fans on Amazon.com starting today, and are available digitally on Amazon Instant Video. The first season is also available on Prime Instant Video, which is a benefit for paid Amazon Prime members who get unlimited, commercial-free, instant access to more than 15,000 movies and TV shows.
“The Fresh Beat Band has been a big hit on TV with preschoolers and their families, so we’re excited to join with Nickelodeon to bring the popular series to DVD and Amazon Instant Video for the first time,” said Brad Beale, director of digital video content acquisition for Amazon. “We work very hard to continuously grow the selection of content that we offer Amazon customers, and Amazon’s CreateSpace on Demand service gives fans a quick and cost-effective way to add The Fresh Beat Band to their personal collections.”
“The Fresh Beat Band has a tremendous following among kids and we are excited to bring the first two seasons of the series to families through Amazon.com and Amazon Instant Video,” said Sherice Torres, SVP, Nickelodeon DVD, DTO, and Video Games.
The Fresh Beat Band centers on four best friends—Kiki (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer), Shout (Thomas Hobson), Marina (Tara Perry) and Twist (Jon Beavers)—in a band who love to sing and dance. Kids are introduced to the fundamentals of music such as melody, rhythm, tempo and performance styles. Viewers also learn the importance of friendship, working together in a positive way and respecting each other’s differences.
The Fresh Beat Band recently kicked off their first-ever sold out nationwide concert tour and released their chart-topping first soundtrack, The Fresh Beat Band: Music from the Hit TV Show, available now in the Amazon MP3 Store. Both the soundtrack and the tour showcases the Fresh Beats’ most popular songs, including, “Here We Go,” “A Friend Like You” and “Just Like A Rockstar.” Additionally, 2K Play and Nickelodeon recently released Nickelodeon Dance for the Wii™ System and Kinect™ for Xbox 360®. It’s the first kids dance game to feature characters and music from several popular Nickelodeon preschool series, including The Fresh Beat Band.
