Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Buy-Write Opportunities Fund Report of Earnings

BOSTON, Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Buy-Write Opportunities Fund (NYSE: ETV), a diversified, closed-end investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three and six months ended June 30, 2011. The Fund's fiscal year ends on December 31, 2011.

For the three months ended June 30, 2011, the Fund had net investment income of $1,690,837 ($0.026 per share). For the six months ended June 30, 2011, the Fund had net investment income of $2,772,908 ($0.043 per share). In comparison, for the three months ended June 30, 2010, the Fund had net investment income of $1,325,132 ($0.020 per share). For the six months ended June 30, 2010, the Fund had net investment income of $2,567,302 ($0.040 per share).  

Net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended June 30, 2011 were $4,966,356 ($0.079 per share). Net realized and unrealized gains for the six months ended June 30, 2011 were $26,203,420 ($0.412 per share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended June 30, 2010 were $80,516,135 ($1.269 per share). Net realized and unrealized losses for the six months ended June 30, 2010 were $70,449,374 ($1.110 per share).

On June 30, 2011, net assets of the Fund were $890,204,897. The net asset value per share on June 30, 2011 was $13.95 based on 63,816,866 shares outstanding. In comparison, on June 30, 2010, net assets of the Fund were $805,340,118. The net asset value per share on June 30, 2010 was $12.64 based on 63,711,335 shares outstanding.
